Attractions
Some of the popular tourist cities in Mali are Bamako, Djenne, Mopti etc. The city of Bamako which has the Botanical Gardens, the Musée National, the zoo and the craft centre at the Maison des Artisansare is the man attraction of Mali. It is also called the educational and cultural centre of Mali. The exclusive mosque in the Djenne is a milestone of the city.

The Old city of Djenne is also one of the oldest cities of Africa. It is also a named as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city of Mopti has some beautiful mosques and town centre Marché des Souvenirs. Timbuktu is well-known for its mosques and fourteenth century tombs. Some other attractions include Bandiagara escarpment in the Dogon country (for trekking), mosque of Kankan Mousse and the tombs of the Aski Dynasty in the Gao city,  La Boucle de Baoule National Park etc. Generally it is advisable to book all the Mali airline tickets well in advance.

Getting In and Around
The main airport in Mali is Bamako (BKO) which is 15km away from the city. Mali also has its national airline named Air Mali. To get around in Mali some domestic Mali flights are serviced by Air Mali.You can also charter lighter aircrafts from the Société des Transports Aériens (STA). Railways system in Mali is provided by Transrail. It has services from Damar – Bamako etc. Mali also has Bus and shared Taxi services between major towns. To rent a car would be a bad ides because the roads here are between moderate to bad.

Climate
Mali has three main seasons which varies from latitude to latitude. It experiences rainy season between June and October. The winter season prevails from October to February. It is further followed by very hot and dry climate until June.

Best time to travel
The best time to travel Mali is the season between November to February as the climate is cool and dry. It is also a good time to experience boat trips in the River Niger.  During the rainy season (June to September) it becomes difficult to travel but the scenery is lush and the rivers are high at this time. In the off season between June - September you will get cheap airline tickets to Mali.  

Best time to fly
The fare in Mali flights changes dynamically depending on demand and supply. If you want to book cheap flights to Mali than you are advised to book the airline tickets well in advance (may be a month before).The best time to take Mali flights is the 1st minute flight in the morning and the last minute flights to Mali at night.
